GRIPP’s New Holistic Oasis: A Sanctuary for Survivors of Human Trafficking
At GRIPP, our mission is clear: to empower and support survivors of human trafficking by providing a comprehensive range of services to help them rebuild their lives. Today, we are excited to share an important step forward in our mission—a new 4,000-square-foot house that we are currently rehabbing to serve as a transitional space for survivors. This house, soon to be transformed into a holistic oasis, will offer victims of trafficking a safe and healing environment, providing them with the time and support they need to transition into a brighter, more stable future.
A Place of Healing and Hope
Surviving human trafficking is a journey fraught with trauma, fear, and uncertainty. As survivors begin to regain control of their lives, they often face immediate challenges—finding safe housing, accessing medical and psychological care, and connecting with community resources. Our newly acquired house will provide a temporary refuge where survivors can stay for up to 30 days while we work diligently with our community partners to find longer-term solutions that suit their needs.
The space will be carefully designed to be more than just a shelter. It will be a sanctuary, a place of peace and restoration, where victims can receive holistic care—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Our team will offer guidance, trauma-informed counseling, job readiness programs, and life skills training to help survivors gain the tools they need to live independently and thrive.
A Holistic Approach to Support
Our vision for this new space is to create a nurturing environment where survivors can heal and regain confidence in their journey toward independence. We believe that healing is a multifaceted process, and our holistic approach will address not just the immediate needs of the survivors but also the deeper, long-term aspects of their recovery. Through our collaboration with community partners, we will ensure survivors have access to:
-
Safe, transitional housing: A comfortable and secure environment that allows them to rest and heal.
-
Medical and psychological care: Access to professional services to address both physical and mental health needs.
-
Life skills and job readiness training: Helping survivors develop skills that will empower them to live independently and confidently.
-
Faith-based healing: Offering support grounded in our Christian values, providing spiritual guidance and restoration.
We believe that this house will serve as more than just a temporary stop—it will be a transformative experience that sets the stage for long-term success.
Supporting Survivors & the Vulnerable
Our work is rooted in the belief that it is our duty to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. The Bible calls us to defend the weak, uphold the cause of the oppressed, and seek justice for those who have been wronged. Psalm 82:3-4 says, "Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." Isaiah 1:17 echoes this call, urging us to “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.” These powerful verses guide our every action at GRIPP as we work to bring justice, healing, and hope to those who need it most.
Through our new holistic oasis, we are not just providing shelter; we are providing a path toward justice, healing, and restoration. We are giving survivors the opportunity to reclaim their dignity, their power, and their futures.
A Community Effort
This initiative would not be possible without the help of our dedicated partners, volunteers, and donors. It’s through community collaboration that we are able to create lasting change. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of survivors and helping to break the cycle of human trafficking.
As we continue to rehab the house and develop it into a space of healing, we are filled with hope and anticipation for the lives that will be transformed. This house will not only provide safety and security; it will be a place where survivors can rediscover their worth, heal from past trauma, and build the future they deserve.
At GRIPP, we are committed to being a part of the solution—one survivor at a time. We are honored to be able to offer this new resource, and we look forward to the many lives it will touch.
